I Want to Believe, But…
It’s often difficult to believe in a God we cannot see. We wonder why God didn’t answer our prayers, why God allows suffering, or why we can’t feel His presence. God may not meet all your expectations—but that’s good news! Find out why in the series
I Want to Believe, But….
Over the four weeks, we will discuss four different versions of “God” that don’t exist—they’re fabrications people often want to believe about the nature of God. But when we start to put God in a box, we create our own ideas about Him and what He’s supposed to do for us.
October 8: On-Demand God – God should always do what I want and always make me happy.
October 15: Killjoy God – I’m not following all those rules.
October 22: Goosebumps God – God should make me feel a certain way.
October 29: Heartless God – God should never allow children to starve, earthquakes to kill people, or people to be born with deformities and diseases.
Class of 2017
On Sunday, August 27, Faith Church congratulated Leilani on her graduation from high school. Leilani will be attending Northeastern College in Boston, where she will be pursuing a degree in behavioral neuroscience. She was a member of the Praise Team for many years and an active participant and leader in the annual Vacation Bible School. We thank her for her years of ministry and pray that God will bless her as she embarks on a new phase of her life’s journey.
Rome VBS – Paul and the Underground Church
During the week of July 17 Faith Church bustled with life and laughter as children embarked on a journey to ancient Rome. Each evening was started with Extollo, as they praised and worship our Heavenly Father. Extollo was followed by family time as they reflected on a daily Bible Point and verse from the Bible. Then they were sent out into the city of Rome where they visited the Apostle Paul, who was under house arrest and chained to his guard, Brutus. In other parts of Rome they played games, visited shops where they made various crafts and sampled some snacks from the food shop. Then towards the end of the evening they again gathered for family time and the evening ended with another Extollo, consisting of enthusiastic singing and praising.
We wish to thank all our volunteers who made this an unforgettable experience for the children. As a result of your love, care, leadership and teaching, they learned that God’s love is a gift, God’s love changes us, God’s love is always with us, God’s love saves us, and that God’s love is worth sharing. We look forward to welcoming the children of our community to a new adventure next year.
